Rental car and pets – the trip works with RentoGo

Travelling with a pet is everyday life for many, but when looking for a suitable rental car the wall often comes up surprisingly fast. Many rental companies either ban pet transport altogether or strictly require the use of a small carrier locked into the cargo area. That's a huge challenge especially for owners of large dogs.

At RentoGo we understand that a dog or cat is a beloved family member. They deserve to come along on cabin trips, family visits and even as moving-day company. That's why we wanted to make travelling with a pet as flexible and hassle-free as possible.

Bringing a pet always needs to be agreed with us in advance. When you make the booking, just remember to mention your furry passenger and we'll add it directly to the official rental agreement. Agreeing things openly makes the trip stress-free for everyone.

You can bring your pet flexibly to suit your needs: our fleet includes dog-friendly passenger cars, spacious minibuses and vans. Dogs are welcome in the car either in their familiar carrier or without one. A larger dog is allowed to enjoy the ride on the seat, as long as the seat is protected with a proper cover that shields it from dirt and moisture. Sturdy dog harnesses clipped into the seatbelt are our strong recommendation for a safe trip!

At RentoGo the pet fee for the rental car is kept very reasonable: we charge a single 50 euro fee per rental. The low price is based on fair play and trust. As a customer you're responsible for returning the car in normal clean condition.

If the car comes back vacuumed and clean, of course we don't charge anything extra. But if the car is returned unusually dirty — for example seats full of mud, or the car needs costly ozone treatment due to strong pet smells — we charge at least 150 euros for cleaning. By taking care of in-car protection beforehand, you save real money.

Why is it then so critically important to declare your pet? The answer lies in responsibility towards our other customers. Dogs and cats always shed some hair and dander, which shows up in a car in no time. In addition, pet scents can easily stick to the upholstery, and a sensitive or allergic person notices them immediately.

Without belittling pets, we have to guarantee a safe and pleasant car trip also to customers who suffer from allergies or asthma. That's why we keep part of our entire fleet strictly and completely allergy-free, and we never rent these specific models to households with pets.
